Streetneat Panels Rod and Custom (07) 3206 0340
Welcome to the world of streetneat.
If you want to see something completely different - then you have come to the right place. What we do with old Holdens is far from normal in both build quality and design.
At streetneat we dont repair- we restore- and there in-lies the difference. Repairs are normally cosmetic at best in most shops- not at Streetneat - Restoration puts the part or panel back to as new condition with little or no sign of any 'repairs' being carried out. Beauty is more than just skin deep. We like to put detailed effort into the hidden areas that you cant see.
In here you will find many sub albums featuring the cars we have built for ourselves and our valued clients.
So you cant make it to streetneat? Don't panic - this website will allow you to find the valuable information you need on how panel and paintwork SHOULD be done with step by step guides shown.
Thanks for stopping by!

HG Ute restoration Project

Shed: HG Ute restoration Project

This is the very car that started it all. Without this Ute there would be no Streetneat.
This HG Ute came into the Clatworthy family on September the 20th 1971. The chicken growers association at the time were negotiating contracts with the chicken processors companies in order to settle on an agreed price for growing chickens. Part of these negotiations were to analyse the typical chicken farm and its typical plant and machinery. This list included amongst many other things, a minimum of a Massey Ferguson 35 Tractor or two and a Holden Belmont Ute. So once it was determined what made up a typical chicken farm, many of the farmers - my father included- decided they had better go out and get some of these items if they didn't already have 'em!

A quick trip to Zupps Motors of MT Gravatt saw an order placed for a Belmont Ute. The HQ series was already on sale by this time. As the salesman saw fit the fact that this particular HG Ute had the 202 motor fitted instead of the 186 - ...

How Australias most radical FC Holden Kustom Coupe was built.

Shed: How Australias most radical FC Holden Kustom Coupe was built.

INTRODUCTION AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:
Holdens first Coupe was the HK Monaro in 1968- or was it? 'They never built a coupe ten years earlier in 1958!' I hear you say... Holden may not have but that didn't stop me. Rather than use the normal American based car as a starting point - what better place to start than with some Aussie iron? They're cheap and Holden made lots of 'em.. read on

Well this is where it all started folks. You have to start some where. This orphan was bought from the trading post in a fit of desperation for something to do other than work on my model A Ford Roadster Hot rod.
I was getting the shits with the wankers that were calling themselves TAC inspectors and I wanted a PROJECT I could sink my teeth into with out having to go through the channels of Wankers that were telling me what to do with the Hot Rod project. Hot Rod got finished first though but this FC was something that would change the whole scene to what we know it as today.
As a result of my...

The Kiwis really know how to have fun with cars. Have a look at two of their events; The Nostalgia drags at Mere Mere and Beach Hop'06 at Whangamata. Also some shed scenes from some hard core Kiwi rodders. Don't panic Holden Fans- you are catered for as well.

Try some of these really useful links as well this will explain things in even more depth. As I discover useful sites I will post up the links to those sites here.

Shed: Roaming for Wrecks

In my travels I am always seeking out the raw material. In this album you will find old Holdens that have been rusting in peace. For some thier days are numbered and the end is near but others hang on doggedly waiting to give up parts or even get a new lease of life.

Please respect the fact that many of these cars are owned by people that wish the location and details of these cars need to remain anonymous- enjoy the pics but dont help yourselves to any images without my permission.

Read the captions for the info on these cars and their status.

This red EK was purchased from auction- its not often these cars wind up there. As we had a spare good shell with an excellent rear we had just parted out, we decided that it would repair just nicely. Follow along as we show how a cut 'n shut is done PROPERLY. This busts the myths about cars can never be the same or as strong. This car was previously restored b4 it was rear ended. After we got the EK, we decided it could do with a re- restore to remedy some of the not so brilliant work. This car is now fully repaired and drives great. Although not a full monty streetneat style resto (this is reflected in the sale price of only 10K) it has come up now as a rather desirable clean daily driver.
The car found a new home in West Australia a few months after its new lease on life. A new stainless fuel tank was fitted prior to it going on a train to its new home. - Brad enjoys driving this one now!

Gone but not forgotten - past Holdens

Shed: Gone but not forgotten - past Holdens

We cant keep 'em all. Many of these cars were our own tranpsort for a while and some were just bought as potential projects or parts cars and moved on. Part of the nature of a panel business is to buy up any unwanted projects that people have given up on for one reason or another. So when a client comes in with a rusted clapped out EH for example - I can sell them one of mine if I have a better one, thus saving all parties concerned much time and expense. Some times we might buy the customers car for wrecking out for others projects as well as our own.
